  • Oklahoma’s public health officials have announced the first presumptive positive COVID-19 case in Oklahoma County. The individual is a woman in her 60s who had recent travel to Florida. She is in isolation at home and public health officials have commenced contact investigation. Officials noted the presumptive case is unrelated to other COVID -19 cases in Oklahoma.
  • There are now four cases of COVID-19 in Oklahoma.

County health departments, including OKC-County and Tulsa Health Departments, do not offer testing for COVID-19 (coronavirus).

Any individual who develops symptoms such as fever, cough, and/or difficulty breathing, and has been in close contact with a person known to have COVID-19 or has recently traveled from an area with ongoing spread of COVID-19 should contact their health care provider or the COVID-19 hotline at 877-215-8336 for recommendations.

The NBA has announced that a player on the Utah Jazz has been tested for COVID-19 and received a presumptive positive result. Public health officials were able to obtain the test result before the game’s tip off. This is still an ongoing investigation as public health officials are testing other players and staff who have been in contact with the player.

OKLAHOMA CITY—Governor Kevin Stitt, alongside experts with the Oklahoma State Department of Health (OSDH), today updated the status of the coronavirus in Oklahoma reporting there are no confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Oklahoma. Oklahoma has submitted specimens for seven people, five of those results came back negative and two are pending.

The Oklahoma State Department of Health (OSDH) joined 29 other states this week in Washington, D.C. working with federal partners on the monitoring and response to COVID-19. To date, there are two persons under investigation in Oklahoma. While testing is pending, the routine process of investigating suspected infectious disease events is to identify contacts who were at risk of exposure and implement control measures to prevent further transmission.
